I'm the new owner and photographer of the Confident Studio! I’m a boy mom, a natural performer, and a coffee lover! I’ve been living in Fairbanks since 2003 and I absolutely love this community.
As your boudoir photographer, I’m here to make sure you have an amazing boudoir experience. I believe that everyone deserves to feel good about their body and I’m here to remind you just how gorgeous you are!

You have booked a boudoir experience, but beyond that, you have said YES to a transformation that is all about you. You've challenged yourself to leap outside your comfort zone, you've pushed past your fears and doubts, and you have laced your trust in my process. You have made the decision to embrace this experience that I have curated just for women like you--women who want to realize their beauty in spite of insecurities, who want to reclaim their femininity, and who want to celebrate themselves just as they are.
As you walk through this season of preparing for such a special experience, I want to remind you that you are enough. No matter what your story is or what your day-to-day looks like--you are absolutely worthy of feeling seen and heard. Believe me when I tell you that you are more--more than a wife, mom, girlboss, friend, sister, daughter. You are you, first and foremost. Part of the magic in this experience is remembering the 'AND'. You are a beautifully multi-dimensional being, my friend. You can totally be a mom, wife, employee of the month.....AND sexy, AND powerful, AND smart, AND beautiful. I want you to be able to look in the mirror and always see the AND.

The Boudoir Experience

Your Boudoir Experience from start to finish. If you don't read anything else in this prep guide... Please read this! This is must know info for how your boudoir experience will go!

How to Prep & What to Bring With:

Nude & Black Thong. You *MUST* bring a nude or black thong (or both if possible) if you plan to wear anything from our client closet. The smaller band on the thong, the better! I recommend getting a size up so that it doesn't create any roll lines from a tight band. Hygiene is everything for us so you won't be allowed to borrow anything if you don't bring a pair of undies for under the outfits!
Lingerie: As you should already know by now, we have an extensive client closet at the studio for you to borrow from! However, feel free to bring any of your own lingerie or outfits if you'd like! I recommend bodysuits/teddies & recommend staying away from babydoll style or outfits that will make you lose shape or curves (such as large t-shirts and jerseys). If you have any questions on what else to pack scroll down to see more on outfits!
Nails, Waxing, Etc.: I highly recommend getting a manicure and pedicure before your shoot! Your fingernails and toenails will be in almost every single shot! I prefer a neutral color for photos but if a colorful polish calls to you -- go for it! If you usually wax on a regular basis I recommend doing it at least 5 days prior to your session.
Wash/scrub your feet really well the morning of your shoot. Dirty feet are hard to retouch so make sure to come with clean feet!
We do not photograph props or costumes - please do not bring them to the studio. We also do not shoot "pin-up" style poses or photography.

How to Arrive to the Studio:

Eat breakfast! I can't stress this enough. It'll be around noon or so when we wrap up and you'll be getting a work out with all of the poses and bending. Make sure to eat so that you don't feel faint from posing your booty off! I promise breakfast won't make or break how your body looks in photos. You're going to be gorgeous!
Please do not come to the studio earlier than your scheduled appointment time. We start prepping 1-2 hours before you arrive to the studio and work up until the minute you walk in the door. If you arrive early, please hang out in your car until it’s time so we can finish prep work!
Arrive with a clean, moisturized face and clean *dry* hair. Please do not arrive with wet hair.
Arrive in loose clothing (i recommend bra-less) & a top that is easy to slip over hair and makeup once glam is done. Clothing that is loose helps to prevent lines/dents in your skin from tight pants or socks.
If you plan on tipping your hair and makeup artist, please make sure to bring cash! Tips are not mandatory but are accepted (and appreciated!). Our hair and make artists work their magic to kick off your shoot making you feel beyond gorgeous!

Please Read These Directions. We are located in the same building as Mayan Palace/Taco Azteca. Come in either of the side entry doors of the Washington Plaza Mall and head up to the second floor. We are in Suite 206 - you'll see our logo on our door and know you're at the right place! Please ring the doorbell on the right side of the door so we know you've arrived! We keep the studio door locked at all times as it's a private space and by appointment only; no walk-ins.

The Boudoir Experience Timeline:

9:00am-10:15am: Arrive at the studio. Our professional hair and makeup artist will ask you how you'd like your hair and makeup to be styled and will start glamming you up after confirming what look you're going for! Complimentary refreshments will be available for you during this time as well (coffee, tea, water and snacks).
10:30am-10:45am: Time to try on some outfits! I'll pull several lingerie pieces in your size and color preferences to try on! You'll have a private space to try it all on & choose your favorites. From there, we'll have a mini fashion show where you'll try on all of your fav pieces and we'll choose your favorite two outfits to shoot in!
10:45am-12:00pm: It's time shoot!! Yassss! We will shoot until I get everything that I need! Sometimes we're wrapped as soon as 11:30 or as late as 12:30 - it varies depending on which collection you prepaid for. Every boudoir experience comes with one outfit change and the bedroom set; most clients opt for an all inclusive package with all of their digital images, 3 outfit changes and 3 sets. This part may seem like it's the most stressful but I promise that it's super easy! I will tell you exactly what to do, where to look, how to breath and everything is tailored to your comfort level. We can keep poses conservative or spice it up! Just let me know in your questionnaire what your comfort level is. I got you, girl!
After Your Shoot: After we finish shooting, we'll take a fun polaroid together to hang up on the boudie wall of fame! YAY! You made it! If you are on our older products menu or chose the 20 or 30 digital image collection than you will hang out at the studio for approximately 30 minutes while I color correct your images! You’ll see your lightly edited but unretouched gallery to choose your favorites! If you prepaid for your full digital gallery but do not want any products - we are done for the day! If you prepaid for the full digital gallery but would like to add on an album then please let me know ahead of time becuase we will take about an hour break while I edit then you’ll come back to the studio for an image reveal where you will choose your album photos and material options! Regardless of what collection you choose, your digital gallery will be delivered within roughly 14 days. Physical products will be delivered within 6-8 weeks.

What happens next?

If you purchased any products they can take anywhere from 6-8 weeks to produce. Everything is custom & handmade at various labs throughout the country... quality takes time. Please keep this in mind if you have any deadlines when ordering.
You've probably heard me say it before on social media but I'll say it again... Seeing yourself on metal wall art hits different! When YOU are the art... well that is pretty f*cking cool. Metal Wall Art is very popular for that reason! There’s no better feeling than seeing a gorgeous photo of yourself hanging up every day to start your day off on the right foot!

Let's Talk About Outfits & Our Client Closet!

We have a client closet with 300+ amazing lingerie choices in sizes XS-6XL. There is something for everrrryyyone! You are more than welcome to borrow anything from our closet, bring your own lingerie OR mix and match between the two.

The only requirement for utilizing the client closet is to bring with a nude or black thong/g-string to wear underneath our pieces!

**PLEASE DO NOT BRING PROPS. WE HAVE EVERYTHING THAT YOU NEED IN THE STUDIO AND DO NOT PHOTOGRAPH PROPS, COSTUMES OR PINUP STYLE PHOTOGRAPHY**

Pieces That We Love & Recommend Bringing:

Bra and Panty Sets, BODYSUITS (Literally any body suit is LIFE and compliments every single body type), sweater/undies, crop top/undies, leather/jean jackets, jeans and more! I would much rather you bring with outfits of your own that you don't end up wearing then you potentially not finding 3 pieces that you absolutely love in the client closet. Please consider bringing 1-2 pieces of your own if you are able.

When consulting your closet, go with your gut. If you love a piece but just aren't sure if it works, bring it! I can help style you and narrow down outfits once you arrive!

Outfits to Avoid Bringing

While I want you to explore your creativity and have fun selecting your outfits, there are a few options out there that I have found it's best to steer clear from!

1. Corsets: While they sure look pretty on the hangers, and definitely do a great job of highlighting curves, corsets are very difficult to pose in. Since the majority of my posing is based on arching and being able to move freely, I highly encourage you not to wear a corset in your session. I want your images to be classic and timeless, and corsets can often date an image. They can also be hard to get into!

2. His jersey: It's such a sweet idea to bring his shirt or favorite team jersey, but because a man's shirt is cut much differently than a woman's, these options almost always mask your curves and leave you with a 'boxy' shape. If you want to bring something of his, I would suggest undie's with his favorite team's logo or finding a jersey with his team in a much smaller size.

3. 'Babydoll' style outfits: If you are unfamiliar with this style, it is a piece that is often fitted in the chest and then has a bunch of extra fabric that flows down near the stomach/waist. All of that fabric can add the illusion of inches around your waist, making you appear larger than you are. It also makes posing more difficult because the fabric tends to lay weird, and you'll be fighting with it the entire time.

Hair & Makeup

I work with the best hair and makeup artists in the area! I hand selected my hair and makeup artists not only because they are the bomb.com at their craft, but because they share my mission for empowering every single woman who enters the studio.

The hair and makeup artist will have EVERYTHING that you need at the studio including a lifetime supply of eyelashes. We only ask that you come with a clean face and clean/dry hair so that she has a blank canvas to work with!

Hair and Makeup Artist's schedules vary so we can't say exactly who will be glamming you up but rest assured that all of them are there to make you look and feel absolutely gorgeous! Feel free to check them out on instagram:

Nails

Before your shoot, treat yourself to a mani/pedi! I personally prefer a muted, neutral color for your nails; that won't clash with any of your outfits. Soft pink, french manicure, beige, gray, black--it doesn't matter how feminine or edgy you want to go! However, if something else speaks to your soul - go for it! This is for YOU after all!

**The Day of Your Shoot**

*What to Pack & Bring:*
Outfits (Please don't worry about whether or not you're overpacking)
A pair of neutral/nude colored panties for client closet outfits (thong or g-string)
Jewelry (if you want it) focus on understated pieces like stud earrings, simple/dainty necklace or bracelet
Shoes (again, only if you want them in your images; I always prefer to shoot barefoot but rock whatever you want, girl!) A pair of heels, converse, knee high boots, whatever suits your style!
*How to Arrive:*
Please arrive to your appointment with a clean, makeup free and moisturized face and clean, dry hair. If you have a favorite lip shade, feel free to bring that. Wear loose clothing that doesn't leave marks on your skin. A great example is sweat pants, a loose tee, and loose undergarments or even pajamas! Please remove hair ties from your wrists or any tight jewelry.
*Make Sure To...*
Eat something before you arrive (trust me, don't worry about whether or not you will look thinner if you skip food). You definitely don't want to pass out from lack of nourishment, so make sure to eat a hearty breakfast before you arrive.
Wash your feet and wear loose socks! There is honestly nothing worse than having super dirty feet in a photo and it's nearly impossible to fix in photoshop!
Get a good night's rest the night before. You want to look fresh for your photos, so try to get to bed early!
Avoid alcohol (at least the evening before). Skip happy hour or bar hopping the night before your session! I want you to feel alert and ready to soak in this experience without feeling/looking sluggish. Reach for water and focus on staying hydrated in the days leading up to your session date! It will do wonders for your skin!
**Please don't arrive to the studio early; right at your appointment time is perfect!** If you're a procrastinator like I am (hey, girl!) than that means I'm probably still vacuuming or making the bed. Showing up early is inevitable sometimes so if you get here early please wait in the car until the appointment time so I can finish getting ready and so the hair and makeup artist can set up :) thank you!!

Frequently Asked Questions

I'm nervous! What is your advice? Sister, that is totally normal! In fact, I might be a little worried if you weren't nervous. Being nervous means you aren't numb to new, exhilarating experiences. By far, the most nerve-wracking part of this is walking in the door for your appointment. After you conquer that, it's an easy-going, super fun experience.
Can I bring a friend to the shoot? We do not allow plus ones during hair and makeup or for the photoshoot. This is a firm policy. Why? Even if they are your best, best friend - you will hold back if someone you know is watching you pose & it is extremely distracting for you as a client and us as the photographer and hair/makeup artist. My main focus is making sure that you have an incredibly comfortable environment to be yourself in, so I want it to be just you and I during the session! Your spouse or significant other is always welcome to walk you into the studio if it makes you feel comfortable before glam starts!
Should I get a spray tan? Please no spray tans before your session! I love them for other events in life but they are extremely difficult to photograph and edit when you're wearing little to nothing. Additionally, I don't want anything rubbing off on our studio sheets or client closet outfits, looking streaky/blotchy on your skin, looking uneven, or looking too orange. I have the same vendetta against tan lines and sunburns too- please stay out of the sun before your shoot! Tan lines or streaks from spray tans are very noticeable in images (plus they are nearly impossible to fix in photoshop). If you decide to spray tan or expose yourself to the sun resulting in a burn or bad tan lines we cannot guarantee that it can be edited out. Please keep this in mind and send me an email if you have any questions.
How long does the shoot last? Around 30-75 minutes! I photograph you until I get everything I need for your gallery and the length of the session depends on how many outfits/sets you do!
What can I expect at the image reveal? At your image reveal, you will select your images you want displayed in the product(s) you purchase. This is your only time to place an order for digitals & physical products; hard drives inevitably fail sometimes so I prefer not to hold onto photos. As outlined in the investment menu, we do not offer post session payment plans. We do offer pre-session payment plans though so make sure to reach out if you'd like your amount split up in any way! If you don't opt into a pre-session payment plan than you will be required to pay in full at your ordering appointment.
If I don't purchase digital images but sign an image release than you'll post them online anyways, right? I do not share any unpurchased digital images online in order to protect my business from having images stolen that weren't paid for. If you'd like a digital copy than I highly recommend purchasing a package that includes digital images. They will not be posted anywhere online. Your digital images are essentially your "insurance policy" for yourself in the event that your products are ever damaged over the years. We absolutely love physical products so much but accidents happen and it really stinks to have physical products ruined somehow and then lose the copies of your photos. This is a big reason why we recommend getting your digital gallery!
I literally have no clue how to pose or be sexy. Help! Don't you worry, girl! I've got you! I will talk you through every single movement within a pose. I teach you exactly what I do with your face, where to put your hands, where to look, when to arch--I pose everything all the way down to how you breathe! It's just us in the room, so if you feel silly the first few times, who cares?! We'll jam out to music, I'll be making you laugh (usually by making a fool of myself & tripping on everything), and you'll totally forget feeling awkward! Be brave, you can do this!
What is your reschedule policy? Our calendar is typically booked for the entire year which doesn't leave a ton of room for reschedules unfortunately. I would recommend keeping your appointment and only rescheduling if you absolutely must. If you do reschedule please make sure to notify me as soon as possible or if there is a verifiable emergency. There is a $250 rescheduling fee for rescheduling prior to 6 weeks before your session or $500 reschedule/cancellation fee if you change your session within 45 days. You will be added to a waitlist for when a date opens up to reschedule to. More details of this are outlined in your contract so if you have more questions please send me an email or reference your signed contract.
When will I get the products I order? Depending on what what gorgeous product you order, the turnaround time is up to 8 weeks.
Should I get waxed? If you have never done it before, please do NOT get waxed. We have no way to know how your skin will react, and to have a full-on breakout would be less than ideal. If you'd like to test it out, please do so months before your appointment so you know how your skin will react. If you don't normally remove body hair, no biggie! I want you to feel like YOU in these images, so do what makes you feel gorgeous! I recommend: Spruce and Feather or The Self Care Collective. Spruce and Feather offers a one time 10% discount for any service prior to your session with me. Just mention 'OLIVIA YVONNE' and your session date in the notes section when booking your service with them!
Do you offer payment plans? I got you covered, babe! I offer an awesome pre-session payment plan. Reach out to me and let's chat about different options. Payment plan options are also listed in your investment menu so make sure to take a peek at it!
What types of payment do you accept? We accept cash, credit/debit, Affirm, PayPal or PayPal Credit. We do NOT accept checks. For Pre-Session Payment Plans, it must be a credit or a debit card or we can schedule a time to meet at the studio if you'd like to pre pay in full in cash.
Can I view my images in an online gallery instead of in person or over Skype? There is no option to have an online gallery or a second Ordering Appointment. You will see your gallery during your same day image reveal.
Can I make additional purchases at a later date? As discussed in the Session Guide and your contract, we do not archive your images after your ordering appointment. Therefore, you will not be able to return and order additional images. However, if you purchase a Digital Collection with the high-resolution files, you can send them to us for printing or you may print them through a third-party.
What happens to the images I do not purchase? We delete them after your Image Reveal & Ordering Appointment; hard drives and backups fail more often than you think so we don't run the risk of attempting to hold on to entire galleries or keep anyone’s intimate photos.
All sales are final. Once your Image Reveal & Ordering Appointment are complete, we will have you fill out a Final Sale agreement, which states that we cannot allow for changes to your order. This is studio policy for all clients and no exceptions will be made. You may not change, alter, add, reduce, or request any other types of changes after the Ordering Appointment.
